and crane operator for the Monon Railroad for 30 years retiring in 1961 He was first married to Mary Yeager who died in 1963 His second marriage was at lagstaff Ariz to Dorothy A Adams and she survives Also surviving are two sonsEsco Neal of Illinois and Robert Norman Neal of Lafayette two daughters Mrs John (Jean) Norman of Lafayette and Mrs Al (Geraldine) of Panorama City Calif two Mrs Bessie Chanley Mrs Bessie Chanley 76 a retired beau tician died at 6:45 am Sunday in St Elizabeth Hospi tal: She was hospitalized Saturday and had been in fail ing health one year Bom at Springfield Ill she spent most of her life at Lafayette She resided at 643 Oregon St Her husband preceded her in death There are no immediate survivors James McCauley James McCauley 58 a Benton County native died apparently of a heart attack July 3 in a hospital at Corvallis Ore Mr McCauley was professor and head student ad viser in the School of Oceanography at Oregon State University He was on the faculties of Olympic College Bremerton Wash Orange Coast College of Costa Mesa Calif and Montana State University He also co authored a 1972 report entitled raphy of the Nearshore Coastal Waters of the Pacific Northwest Relating to Possible Surviviors include his widow Betty two daughters Mrs Jane Thomas of West Africa and Mrs Mary Bucy of Corvallis Ore one son Thomas McCauley his mother Mrs Ruth McCauley of Corvallis and a broth er Robert McCauley of Kent Wash William A Bruck KENTLAND William A Bruck 82 a retired ma sonry died at 2:45 pm Sunday in Kentland Nursing Home He had been in ill health the past several years A native and life resident of Kentland he worked for most of his life as a mason in the Kentland area Mr Bruck had served on the Kentland Zoning Board for several years In 1938 he was married to Rose Molter who sur vives He was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church the Mens Society of the church Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 23 where he was past com mander Mr Bruck was a veteran bf World War I The widow is the only immediate survivor Miss Nellie Shepard SEDALIA Miss Nellie Shepard 89 former local resident died at 7 am today in Sheridan Health Care Center Sheridan where she had resided for several years Bom near Sedalia she spent most of her life in this area She formerly attended Sedalia Methodist Church There are no immediate survivors iDr Thomas Broadie WILLIAMSPORT Dr Thomas Broadie 74 a native of Williamsport died at 4:30 am Saturday in Presbyterian Home St Paul Minn after an extended illness Dr Broadie a practicing medical doctor at St Paul since 1928 formerly lived at Attica He was married to Marjorie Allen who died in 1965 He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at St Paul Surviving is one son Dr Thomas A Broadie of Indi anapolis Miss Nancy Kay Brown MONON Miss Nancy Kay Brown 18 of Rt 1 Mo non died at 5:30 am Sunday in Indiana University Medical Center Indianapolis She had been in ill health one week A native of Lafayette she was the daughter of Rich ard and Betty Jane Northrup Brown She spent most of her life in this community and was a member of Monon United Methodist Church Surviving with the parents are a brother Thomas Brown of Monon and three sisters Sharon Allen of Reynolds Sheila Gilmore of Monon and Pamela Brown at home John Barton in Korea ST ELIZABETH HOSPITAL July 8 Gary and Teresa Espejo American Lion Post 146 at Morocco His first marriage was in 1907 at Iroquois to Grace razier who died in 1933 His second marriage was to Gertrude Grant and she died in 1965 He married Wil hefmina employment with the school district he worked for the Warren County Highway Department He also had operated a garage at Pence In 1931 he was married at Crawfordsville to Esther Butler who survives He was a member of Marshfield Presbyterian Church Surviving with the widow are a son Jerry Cham bers of Indianapolis one daughter Mrs William (Mari an) Jordan of Rt 2 Williamsport a brother Cleon Williamsport from 1933 until 1966 She then moved to Danville Ill where she resided at 3716 Illinn Ave In 1914 she was married at Attica to Robert Smith who died in 1955 A dressmaker and seamstress she
