Should I tip in Centurion Lounge? ›

(Just know that everything in these lounges is first-come, first-served, and you're unlikely to be the only person in one.) Do you tip at Centurion lounges? Tipping is accepted and appreciated, but not expected.

To enter an Amex Centurion Lounge, you must present your valid eligible card, a physical government-issued ID, your same-day boarding pass and be within three hours of your departing flight as stated on your boarding pass.

Drinks are complimentary for patrons. The Reserve whiskey bar has a variety of whiskeys and co*cktails on offer. Things get more interesting when you visit The Reserve, the lounge's whiskey bar. It's in a separate room toward the front of the lounge, and it serves a variety of unique co*cktails and special whiskeys.

Complimentary Guest Access is limited to two (2) guests per visit per eligible Card Member. Platinum Card Members will be charged a $50 fee for each additional adult guest, or $30 for children aged 2 through 17 with proof of age.

Tipping at spas and shower suites at US airport lounges

You can only access these lounges before you fly or during a layover if you have a connecting flight. You can't enter a Centurion lounge after you land.

First up, tipping is never expected in any airport lounge anywhere in the world. That doesn't mean that tipping isn't commonplace – it's most often seen in US airport lounges, and those tips are certainly appreciated by lounge staff. But you should never feel obliged to peel a note or two from your wallet.

But all Centurion Lounges offer complimentary drinks and food, Wi-Fi, private workspaces, and comfortable furniture to unwind before your flight. And in nearly every regard, it's all a step above what you'll get in standard airport lounges – at least in the U.S.
